CHAPTER ORGANIZED AUGUST 1908

Ensign John James Trabue, for whom Trabue Chapter was named, was an ancestor of Miss Carrie Knight, Trabue's first regent. Mrs. Anna Mead Letcher was instrumental in organizing the chapter, but as her ancestors were Tories, she and her family could not be members. Mrs. Letcher attended all the meetings as long as she lived.

John James Trabue was born in King William Parish, Virginia, and died December 23, 1803. He received pay and bounty lands under an Act of Congress. Trabue and five of his sons were Revolutionary War soldiers.
