HISTORY OF CHAPTER NAME
The chapter takes its name from a local geographical feature, Pine Mountain. Pine Mountain is considered southeastern Kentucky's ecological treasure. A state park located at Pine Mountain was created in 1924, and has the distinction of being the first created for Kentucky.
